About The Longhorns Diving CampThe Longhorns Diving Camp offers an outstanding learning opportunity and a challenging training environment for divers of all abilities. The divers participate in two diving training sessions and an extensive exercise/stretching/spotting session each day. Instruction is provided in all phases of competitive diving, including tower diving for those who choose. Several lectures are presented in order to best educate the divers about mechanics, movement, learning and mental focus. |
The Staff
The Longhorns Diving Camp staff includes highly skilled diving coaches as current university coaches and age group coaches. Additionally, reputable guest coaches assist in coaching. Campers are supervised on a 24-hour-a-day schedule by the coaches and/or counselors.
Housing and Supervision
Campers are housed two-four to a room in a campus dorm within walking or busing distance to all activities. The dorm dining hall offers a variety of food on an all-you-can-eat basis for a well-rounded, balanced diet. Responsible counselors—who reside in the dorm—and experienced coaches provide supervision for the Camp’s divers, including the weekends for campers staying more than one week.
Travel
Campers should arrive at the camp’s dorm on Sunday between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. The first diving activity begins Sunday after dinner and an orientation meeting. The final activity concludes by noon on Friday. Campers should depart by 1 p.m. on Friday. There is a fee charged for each day that a camper arrives early or departs late. Transportation to and/or from the airport is provided (upon request) at a $35 one-way or $45 round-trip fee. For those traveling via airline, please try to book arriving flights on Sunday between 11a - 4p, and departing flights on Friday between 11a - 5p.
Healthcare, & Insurance Requirements
Proof of medical insurance (company name and policy number) and a signed waiver accepting responsibility of medical treatment cost for illness or injury is requested to expedite health care should a physician visit be needed while at camp. Campers’ parents or guardians are billed for all medical services rendered by the designated camp physician and/or medical providers.
